All you need to know about Adblue

What is Adblue?
Adblue is in EU6 vehicles to reduce emissions of oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel engine motor vehicles. Adblue is suitable for use in any vehicles with a dedicated Adblue tank.

How does Adblue work?
The fluid converts over 90% of nitrogen oxide emissions into nitrogen and steam, resulting in less pollution. When the engine is running, tiny amounts of the solution are injected into the exhaust system breaking down emissions into water vapour and nitrogen gas.

Adblue Top Ups
Adblue should be topped up at service intervals, or when a warning light is displayed on the dashboard.
Should your vehicle run out of Adblue when driving, your vehicle will not cut out, but once you stop the vehicle, it will not restart again until you fill the Adblue tank. It is advised that you always purchase Adblue of an approved quality from an approved stockist, all adblue sold by Cordwallis conforms to ISO22241. Failure to comply with this guideline can result in a number of issues where the Adblue crystallizes in the tank

Whilst your car is in warranty, it is important to ensure you use Volkswagen branded Adblue to ensure that it meets the standards for your vehicle. Failure to follow these guidelines can invalidate your warranty.
