Help us to raise money to give Stanley hope!
As a company, we are raising money for a cause very close to our hearts, and would love you to help us!
In April 2017, on the day Stanley turned 18 months old, his family were told he had a large tumour in his abdomen. Over the next few days they discovered that he had stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma involving a 13cm mass on his adrenal gland with spread to his liver, lungs and bone marrow. Stanley now faces a minimum of 18 months treatment.
He has already endured 8 rounds of induction chemotherapy and will shortly embark on his second round of additional chemotherapy and in the next few weeks he will hopefully undergo an invasive 12 hour operation to remove the main mass from his abdomen. Further treatment includes high dose chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and vitamin therapy.
Despite the exhaustive treatment provided in the UK there is still only a 50% chance of survival so in Summer 2018 we are aiming to take Stanley to America to take part in a clinical trial which will hopefully significantly increase these odds for him.
This is a hideous disease and one which children of any age, particularly so young, should not have to go through. Despite the odds many do beat it, and Stanley will do too.
Stanley is a fighter, he’s already showing his strength and bravery by maintaining his happy character, smiles and laughter, throughout his treatment so far.
We are asking for your help in raising funds which will enable us to help towards enrolling Stanley on the clinical trial and take him to America to receive this innovative treatment.
As our way of helping, we will be selling Smiles For Stanley bracelets in all of our service departments (Heathrow, Maidenhead and Oxford) for £5.
